It’s no secret that being healthy and active will help keep you feeling young and energetic, but how can you make it happen? It’s simple, really! These ten secrets will help you find your balance in the area of health so that you can live well and enjoy life to the fullest.
1) Stop eating processed foods
Processed foods are often high in fat, sugar, and other unhealthy ingredients that your body does not need. Eliminating processed foods from your diet will improve the overall quality of your food choices. In turn, this will lead to better health and wellness.
#2 Start cooking at home more often- If you eat out or buy pre-made meals too much you will end up consuming an excess of added sugars, preservatives, and salt. These ingredients are bad for both your physical and mental health.
2) Get outside and exercise every day
Exercise will help regulate your body’s hormones, improve your mood, and keep you looking young. Make a habit of going for a walk or jog every day. Keep active with sports like soccer, basketball, baseball, etc. Eat more fruits and vegetables: Fruits and vegetables contain lots of vitamins and nutrients that are good for the body. Drink water instead of soda: Soda is not healthy because it contains too much sugar which can lead to diabetes later in life. Stop smoking: Smoking has been proven to cause cancer so it's best not to start smoking in the first place.
3) Eat more veggies
Eating a well-balanced diet can make you feel better, help you maintain your weight, and even decrease your risk of heart disease. Eating more vegetables will do all of that. Start today by adding more veggies to what you're already eating. You'll feel great and be healthier too!
4) Spice up your meals
Try adding healthier spices and herbs to your favorite recipes. Some examples are oregano, rosemary, thyme, and sage. Cinnamon is a great addition to oatmeal or yogurt and ginger is delicious in soups and curries. Remember, you can never go wrong with garlic!

5) Sleep well, dream big!
It's not the size of your house, it's how you live in it. The same can be said for your body: It doesn't matter how much junk food you eat or how often you smoke cigarettes; if you sleep well and dream big, those negative habits will be easier to shake. Without proper rest and goals that inspire us, many of us are tired, depressed and unhealthy.
6) Drink water
Drinking water is the first thing people typically think of when they think about being healthy. Being well hydrated flushes out toxins, improves immunity, and helps keep us regular. It's no wonder studies show drinking 8 glasses a day can reduce your risk of kidney stones and osteoporosis as well as regulate your body's fluid balance and pressure. So remember to drink up!
7) Create positive habits with mantras
Stop and smell the roses. Meditate in silence for at least 5 minutes a day. Pay attention to your diet. Listen to the birds chirping and the leaves rustling. Dance like no one is watching.
8) Meditate daily
Meditating is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety, and will also help you stay focused. Take at least five minutes of time each day to meditate. Meditation can be done in any position, but try lying down so that you feel more relaxed. Breathe in deeply through your nose as you focus on a single word or breathing exercise. Relax your shoulders, allow the tension to dissipate with each exhale, and pay attention only to your breath flowing in and out of your nose.
9) Be grateful for what you have (not what you don't!)
What is the secret of being healthy? Well, the answer is not simple. For example, having a nutritious diet, avoiding alcohol and other drugs, getting enough sleep. All these are important factors in your health. The more you are grateful for what you have-not what you don't have-the healthier you will be!
10) Stay away from negative people
One of the best things you can do for your mental health is to stay away from people who are negative or toxic. You don't have to completely cut them out of your life, but you should limit interactions. When they call, answer the phone and tell them I'm not available right now. Then change your number and don't give it out again. If they come into a place where you work, tell them you're not allowed visitors, or better yet, find a new
